Mint Hill Library will be celebrating Walt Disney’s birthday with a free Disney movie marathon. The exact movies aren’t listed yet but there will be movies playing 10AM, noon, 2PM, and 4PM on Saturday, December 5th. All ages.

Ever want to watch as artists draw portraits, or want to try your own hand at the art? The first Tuesday of each month, from 7PM to 9PM, Mint Hill Arts gives you that chance. Bring your own supplies and join in the fun. The portrait you draw might end up looking nothing like the target (oops, subject) but it doesn’t matter. It’s about having fun, joining in the arts community, and trying something new.

I don’t normally recommend books, but these two children’s books were so good, I wanted to share… A Chair for My Mother by Vera B. Williams and An Orange for Frankie by Patricia Polacco are excellent choices for your library list. Let’s make teaching compassion and gratitude a part of our culture.

A Homeschool Savings Tip

If you are using a curriculum which has a consumable piece to it, put it in sheet protectors and let your child use dry erase markers to do the work. Wipe it off when finished. The sheet protectors and curriculum can be reused.
